Mary Ndagire
Director of Programs
Mary’s position as Director of Programs is outreach to children and young mothers through home visits, assessments, and follow up reports in order to determine educational placement. In addition, Mary’s responsibilities include the coordination of the counseling, mentorship, and Help for Health programs. Mary’s greatest joy is to be a part of program in which those in her charge grow and progress on their journey to adulthood. Mary holds advanced degrees in counseling, psychotherapy, social work and human resources. She values programs that are relational and ensure the needs of sponsors, staff, mentors, children, teens, young mothers, and the Help our World, One on One and Omu’Omu teams. When not working, Mary loves her alone tine connecting with God through prayer and meditation. She also loves spending time with others and she is a great cook! Mary began working with these kids in 2003.
Paul Tusubira
Director of Administration
As Director of Administration, Paul’s responsibilities include: the planning, organizing, directing, and management of the overall Omu’Omu program. His primary focus is he empowerment of vulnerable and at risk Ugandan children. Paul’s true passion is in providing a Godly approach to serving children, teens, and young mothers in the transformation of their communities. In his spare time, Paul can be found on the soccer field, reading, traveling, ands pursuing his musical talents. Paul joined the YFCU team in 2008.
Dickson Watelo
Accountant
After having completed a bachelors degree in Business administration and Accounting from Makere Business School, Dickson has been working with this group since 2001. Presently he is serving as the accountant for Omu’Omu and his duties include: keeping account of all ministry funds, handling all financial transactions pertaining to Omu'Omu and providing financial reports for to the boards of both How101 (U.S.) and Omu’Omu (Uganda). Because Dickson has followed the progress of our children for many years, his wise counsel is an integral part of the ongoing mentorship program established by the Omu’Omu team. Additionally, Dickson enjoys spending time with his family, visiting friends, and learning new ideas from others… especially seniors.
Samuel Gibson
Social Worker
Samuel joined the staff in 2016. He is responsible for being aware of the welfare of the children, counseling them and mentoring them. He has a degree in social work and social services from Nsamizi Training Institute. Samuel appreciates his team mates and values their commitment to all in the Omu’Omu program. In his spare time he enjoys swimming and pursuing his interest in music. Sam is an excellent addition to the staff. Children of all ages are drawn to his leadership and compassion.
Solomon Kisige
Education Coordinator
Solomon joined joined Help our World, One on One/Starfish program in 2011. Solomon now serves as Education Coordinator. Graduating with a Juris Doctor in Law from Nkumba University, Solomon wanted to become a lawyer to better serve the interests of justice and he believes his greatest contribution to Omu’Omu will be to provide leadership and guidance to the organization, staff, and children. Solomon admires that children, with unique backgrounds ,are being served well, thus ensuring they will have the potential to become all they are meant to be. Solomon knows- the love of the children and the sacrifice he sees by the sponsors, partners, and staff to prioritize the children’s needs and keep the organization moving... is amazing!

Andrew Echel
Omu'Omu Board Chair
Andrew has served in many capacities while studying International Business in Mukono. He now has a Master's Degree in Institutional Management and Leadership. He oversees the board and staff to help create strategic direction for Omu'Omu Uganda. He has a passion to see youth grow and push through in education. His prowess, sharp skills, wit and attention to details are an asset to all! He has served with YFCU for 10 years (working alongside how101 simultaneously). Andrew is currently employed full-time by ISEE Solutions Uganda.
Nakawunde Aidah
Omu'Omu Board Member
Aidah serves on the Board of Directors of OmuOmu and is an excellent addition! She brings twenty years of experience working with and teaching children and youth in the local community. While her board position requires Aidah to ensure the proper allocation of funds of the organization, she also works hand-in-hand with the staff members to set goals to assist in fulfilling the mission and vision of the ministry. Her work with children and youth has equipped her with the ability to identify the strengths as well as the challenges of those in the program. Aidah’s major area of interest is to encourage steady progress and growth of our children in all aspects of their lives. Her desire is that all children live Godly and purpose-driven lives. Aidah holds a diploma in Early Childhood Development from Nkozi University and is a leader in her community.

Omu’Omu Mentors

Omu’Omu mentors all share a commitment to God, their country and the kids they’re responsible for. They are considered volunteers (which is remarkable) and each has outside employment to sustain them. They enjoy collaborating, brainstorming and creating ways to reach and teach! The children are always ecstatic to see them!
