Sponsor funds cover education costs directly for a child. However, it takes an army to help these kids in every way. Project Costs include staffing and salary, transportation, field trips and mentor days, home and school visits, as well as outreach to the communities. In Uganda, we host reunions 3 times a year as well as Mother/guardian training and sustenance days geared toward common issues, a big meal and supplying food staples for each unit.
In Kenya, the needs are different as currently Taraja is a transitional orphanage on 10 acres. We have funded several self-sustaining endeavors (such as farming and greenhouse), as well as repairs, construction and providing critical needs such as water tanks and propane tanks for cooking. In addition, each boy is equipped with several weeks worth of food and supplies to share with their family/guardian when not in school. THE CRITICAL NEED AT THIS TIME IS ONGOING DONATIONS TO KEEP THE HOME OPERATIONAL COSTS GOING! (please visit this page to donate: https://how101.org/taraja-family-overview/)
